The Wellbeing Budget and its impact on the Environment

  • S1, Stewart Building Lincoln University Campus Lincoln New Zealand (map)

Dr Marilyn Waring delivers a compelling exploration of New Zealand’s Wellbeing Budget, challenging GDP-focused thinking and making the case for environmental and social wellbeing to be at the heart of public policy. Drawing on her groundbreaking work in feminist economics and ecological governance, she inspires audiences to rethink prosperity through long-term, values-driven environmental planning.

Dr Waring became New Zealand's youngest Member of Parliament when she was elected as a National Party MP in 1975. She'll discuss the current Government's wellbeing budget and its likely impact on the wellbeing of the environment.
