Exploring our Energy Future

  • B.linc Workshop Lincoln University Lincoln New Zealand (map)

As the nation continues to prioritize sustainability and environmental stewardship, it is a promising outlook for the future of energy. With a strong commitment to reducing carbon emissions and transitioning towards renewable energy sources, New Zealand is poised to become a global leader in clean energy innovation. The country already relies heavily on renewable energy, with a significant portion of its electricity generated from hydroelectric, geothermal, and wind power. Looking ahead, advancements in technology, such as improved energy storage solutions and grid integration, are likely to further enhance the efficiency and reliability of renewable energy systems. New Zealand's ambitious goals for carbon neutrality and a zero-emission future by 2050 underscore the nation's determination to forge a sustainable path. As investments in research and development continue, along with a growing emphasis on community-based energy initiatives, New Zealand is well-positioned to not only meet its energy needs responsibly but also to inspire global efforts towards a cleaner, greener future.

In an era where sustainable practices and green initiatives are at the forefront of global discussions, Orion will provide invaluable insights into New Zealand's journey towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy landscape.

Join us as we hear from Orion as they share their view on challenges, opportunities and strategies for Canterbury and New Zealand in the transition towards a low carbon, affordable and resilient energy future.
