With PGG Wrightson Seeds arrival as new neighbours to their key research and business partners, it seems only fitting that we welcome them into our community.

John McKenzie, CEO – Oceania, PGG Wrightson Seeds lead the decision to move closer to the Lincoln Precinct in an effort to enable deliberate and more seamless collaboration between students, academics, researchers and business.  PGG Wrightson Seeds has long been an innovator and a key reason why New Zealand growers enjoy world leading positions in seed production.  Join us to hear John share their new home, vision, strategy, projects and developments in grass and forage seed innovation for New Zealand in the future.

PGG Wrightson Seeds have generously invited Blinc guests to join them for this VIBE event at their new premises, get a glimpse of their new home and test out their facilities.

John McKenzie, CEO – Oceania, PGG Wrightson Seeds

John was the founder of the specialist proprietary forage seed company Agricom Ltd in 1986, which merged with Pyne Gould Guinness in July 2005.  Shortly after that PGG was merged with Wrightson and John was appointed the Manager for Seeds and Grain of PGG Wrightson Seeds Ltd. John has been involved in all aspects of the seed business over his period of involvement with the industry.

When John graduated from Lincoln University he was a farm consultant for several years prior to going farming.  In parallel with developing his farming business from scratch he worked in the live animal export trade. He was also heavily involved in Farm Property Supervision and Development in both the dairying, deer and beef industries and managed a feed milling operation as part of the Agricom business for a number of years.
